"I don't relate to being boy or girl, and I don't have to have my partner relate to boy or girl," the former Disney Channel childstar talks about being gender fluid in her recent interview with Paper magazine, Hollywood Life reports.
"Genderfluid aka Gender-fluid, Gender Fluid, or Fluid Gender is an identity under the multigender, nonbinary, and transgender umbrellas. Genderfluid individuals have different gender identities at different times. A genderfluid individual's gender identity could be multiple genders at once, and then switch to none at all, or move between single gender identities." - Nonbinary.org
But looks like this is not something that just came up to her, but instead, Miley, 22, had already been dealing with the issue way back her Hannah Montana days. She was 14 when she opened up about it to her mother, Tish Cyrus: "I remember telling her I admire women in a different way. And she asked me what that meant. And I said, I love them. I love them like I love boys," she revealed. Her mother, she tells, didn't handle the news well at the beginning: "And it was so hard for her to understand. She didn't want me to be judged and she didn't want me to go to hell. But she believes in me more than she believes in any god. I just asked for her to accept me. And she has."
In the interview, the Wrecking Ball singer openly talked about her fluid sexual preferences, "I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn't involve an animal and everyone is of age. Everything that's legal, I'm down with. Yo, I'm down with any adult - anyone over the age of 18 who is down to love me."
She also doesn't deny engaging in very serious same sex relationships and explains why it's never gone public: "People never really looked at it, and I never brought it into the spotlight."
Exes knew about the fluid gender
Surprisingly, the Bangers' former flames were very well aware of the situation. "They both new [about Miley's bisexuality], but it was Patrick that was really more accepting and really brought it out of her. He thought it was really hot!" an insider tells Hollywood Life.
Liam was also just chill about the whole thing, citing that the issue had nothing to do with their split in 2013. "Immaturity, family planning and career goals were the main factors," the source continues.
The brave act of coming out and being very proud of it is solid proof that there is no stopping Miley Cyrus in living life her way. We support you, Miley!
