Styx band member Tommy Shaw has sold his Hollywood luxury home for $2.1 million. It was reportedly listed for $1.95 million, which was lower than the closing price. Rose Ware and Terry Canfield Schmidt of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services California Properties were reported as the the listing agents.
The mid-century modern residence was purchased by the guitarist for $1.09 million back in 2011. Los Angeles Times reported that the place was initially set as a rental home for about $7,500 a month according to the report done by Times back in April.
The estate sits on about 0.25 acres of land with a 2,207-square-foot home. It is located right in the wonderful hills of the Beachwood Canyon area. The Hollywood Hills home is secured with steel and frosted glass gate that can be seen from the outside. The interior is adorned with elegant architectural details. It has three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms.
Other features of the home include polished concrete floors, a high ceiling living area with a chipped glass fireplace and a glassed-in foyer. It also includes an updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The master bedroom has its own fireplace and walk-in closet.
The house's exterior can be accessed through the glass doors that open to a swimming pool and an expansive deck where one can view the cityscape, mountains and canyons. According to Latin Post, the rocker also sold another luxury estate back in August 2013 for about $5.3 million. The Hollywood Hills estate includes seven bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms.
Shaw has a net worth of $15 million according to CelebrityNetWorth.com. His earnings mainly come from being part of the popular rock band Styx, which is famous for its 1970s hits like "Fooling Yourself" and "Renegade."
