A quote from Victoria McNallly on MTV News on Monday report says, "We've loved every single '80s-tastic image we've seen come from the set of 'X-Men Apocalypse.'" There is just one burning question that is still unanswered: Will Storm's punk-rock hairstyle from the comics surprise us on the big screen and give us what we have been waiting for?
Alexandra Shipp, who plays Storm in 'X-Men: Apocalypse,' showed up in public with a big hair-covering hat, which made X-Men fanatics become more suspicious about what's happening. Shipp shaved her hair for the upcoming movie, and it made fans feel more excited.
For the record, Storm made the first Mohawk iconic hairstyle in Uncanny X-Men #173 in the 1983 cartoon series. Of course, X-Men fans loved the haircut, but some were not fascinated with it.
It seems that Shipp is increasing the curiosity level of mutant fans as she had her hair buzzed and may be rocking the iconic Mohawk hairstyle in the movie, according to moviepilot.com.
Evan Campbell of ign.com reported that last Sunday, Shipp changed her Twitter profile picture, showing herself shaving her head, with the caption "Guess the secret's out." A picture posted by director Bryan Singer on Instagram showed that Shipp has had her hair shaved. Does this mean that Storm will be hairless in the movie?
The character has had rather little looks in the comics and cartoon series over the years, but her most iconic haircut is by far the Mohawk, so it's always promising that there will be some kind of wig used for the shoot. It seems that James McAvoy was not the only one obliged to shear off his head for his Professor X role, shared comicbookmovie.com.
Director Bryan Singer and his crew are currently filming the movie in Montreal. Among the famous stars to watch out for are Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Lana Condor as Jubilee, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Ben Hardy as Archangel, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, with Tye Sheridan as Cyclops and Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse.
The movie will bang the big screen on May 27, 2016.
