'Fear The Walking Dead' News, Spoilers: The Show Won't Be In The Woods, Says Creator Robert Kirkman

Robert Kirkman has recently spilled more information about the new "The Walking Dead" spin-off television series, "Fear The Walking Dead."

Kirkman said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that the spin-off will be entirely different from the original series. It is reportedly set before the events of "The Walking Dead" for the viewers to have an idea how the outbreak happened. One of the major differences of the two shows is also the location. "Fear The Walking Dead" won't be in the woods as it will be set in Los Angeles. As Kirkman said in the interview, "Los Angeles is such an interesting city in and of itself, just because of the vast melting pot of diversity that California has become."

According to Screen Rant's report, the spin-off will be more than just a prequel of the original show. It reportedly shows more potential now that some details about the series have come to light. Kirkman said that the show will "use time to its advantage to enrich the overall mythos of 'The Walking Dead' universe."

The website Undead Walking also stated that the spin-off series has a lot of unique things going for it. The show reportedly has a different storyline and does not have the kind of pattern that the original series has compared to the hit comic book series.

In a recent interview of "The Walking Dead" showrunner Dave Erickson with TVLine, he said that they have "rules" that are in place for the show when it premieres in AMC this summer. He was quoted as saying, "There are certain rules that have been set up and established in the first show that we can't break from... We also need to make sure that we're not stepping on each other's story."

The spin-off series is expected to premiere in the late summer in AMC.
