There has been a lot of buzz about the iOS 9, mainly because of its bragging music features and other bug fixes on our iPhones and tablets, which is said to be released this month.
"For 2015, iOS 9 is going to include a collection of under-the-hood improvements," states the report. But to give you Apple users an even more detailed glimpse, here are 5 useful features of the iOS 9, as reported by Forbes and Tech Radar.
1. Better Battery Life
This is one of the biggest, if not the best, improvements many active users will appreciate. All updated iPhones and tablets will get a 10% boost on their battery life, or approximately one hour more of screen time. There is also the new Low Power mode which will save you another three hours once activated.
To further save up on battery, your gadget will also be able to detect if it's face down on a table. If it is, it won't turn the screen on.
2. The update is for everyone
Majority of the Apple devices, including the iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPad mini, and iPod touch 5th Gen, will be able to access the upgrade.
In terms of memory size, iOS 9 only requires 1.3 GB of space, 3.5 times smaller than its predecessor, the iOS 8.
3. Better Assistants
In iOS 9, Siri is back with a greatly improved understanding and detection of natural language requests in order to carry them out in both core Apple and third party apps.
Joining Siri is the new Proactive Assistant, Apple's response to Google Now. Like its competition, it can accumulate all the information in your device (such as tickets, calendar entries, and directions). However, unlike Google Now, Apple guarantees that all the information gathered will not be shared with third parties.
4. Tighter Security
After installing the update, your device will now require a 6-digit passcode, rather than a 4-digit one. With this rate, there are one million possible combinations to crack your code, rather than the 10,000 that four digits provide. But if this new security addition is a hassle for you, you can always change the settings and revert back to the original.
5. Easier jump from Android to Apple
iOS 9 will also help Android users to switch to Apple with its new app called 'Move to iOS,' wherein information such as contacts, camera photos, email accounts, and web bookmarks can be wirelessly transferred.
