TLC's hit reality TV series "19 Kids and Counting" was recently pulled out from Hulu amid Josh Duggar's molestation scandal. According to International Business Times, Hulu, one of the most popular streaming websites in the U.S., recently removed all of their links and show results for "19 Kids and Counting." A spokesperson for the company then released a statement explaining their decision.
The spokesperson told TMZ that they decided to remove "19 Kids and Counting" from their online roster after their company received countless messages from angry viewers. However, the company did not directly address Duggar's molestation scandal.
Even though the Hulu spokesperson did not singlehandedly mention Duggar's recent indecent acts, fans are speculating that their decision had something to do with it. After all, the spokesperson said that they received hate messages from fans and this certainly had something to do with that.
Meanwhile, Hulu's decision to pull out the series did not come as a surprise because TLC already stopped airing the show on the network. Additionally, promotional materials for the show that were previously posted on TLC's website have already been removed since last week.
To add to this, fans are petitioning TLC to completely stop airing "19 Kids and Counting" not only this season but also in the future. As of late, TLC stopped airing the show and said that it was because the reality TV series was on hiatus.
However, removing "19 Kids and Counting" from the network completely could mean a possible loss in profit for the network. According to reports, the reality TV show has been dubbed as one of the most popular shows on TLC.
With this report, there are rumors that TLC may create a spinoff of "19 Kids and Counting" that will focus solely on Josh's younger sisters, Jill and Jessa, and their respective families. This move could help save their income while responding to what their audiences no longer want to see.
