A live iguana is pulled out of a bowl by a plumber in a toilet of Lindquist family in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Lily Lindquist, 17, thought that something has clogged-up their drains after using the toilet. Her mother Marian has inexorably pumped a plunger, but couldn't unclog whatever is causing the obstruction. What she later discovered is more than just a clog but a live creature helplessly stuck inside the bowl - a giant iguana, ABC News reports.
Ailsa Scott, the plumber who came to the family's rescue expressed his surprise after pulling a large lizard in the bowl. "At first I thought it was a toy, and then it started moving around. "I've never seen anything like this before. This is the first time I pulled something like that out of a toilet."
The large lizard is a little less than two feet long and is found trapped in the toilet bowl. The poor iguana however did not survive the ordeal as the tool that the family used inadvertently killed it. Mum Marian expressed her regrets for the iguana's death but was more thankful that no harm came in her family's way.
In a report by Myfoxatlanta , the plumber explained that the iguana may have most probably entered the Lindquist's home through the rooftop vent and got lost on his way, until it found a possible exit in the toilet bowl. Iguanas and other amphibians entering residential houses usually happen along the Poinsettia Heights neighbourhood because of a manmade lake along its edge.
The teenager who was terrorized by the giant Iguana in their toilet, says she's keeping the vents closed from now on: "I don't want to be there when an iguana flies out of the toilet or an iguana bites me when I'm trying to go to the bathroom."
