"Duck Dynasty" cast member Jep Robertson recently revealed that he was molested by an older girl when he was just a young boy. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Robertson opened up about what the older girl did to him every time they rode the school bus.
"I was six and it was on a school bus and it was with an older girl. Back then the high school students would ride the same bus as the grade school. There was this little girl there that was just real mean. I don't know, but it was a lot of things took place - scary stuff. It was tough," he said.
Robertson's story is one of the subjects in his upcoming memoir titled, "The Good, The Bad, and the Grace of God: What Honesty and Pain Taught Us About Faith, Family and Forgiveness." In the book, the 37-year-old narrated what transpired in the school bus and revealed that he avoided coming to school for fear that the older girl might abuse him again. Robertson also confirmed that he never told anyone about his story because he was afraid other people would judge him, according to Design N Trend.
Many years passed and Robertson decided to tell his wife Jessica about what happened and said that he waited that long because he was embarrassed. The reality TV star also revealed that at one point he got really scared of girls in general.
"I was really scared of girls and just women in general, but I think God has a plan for that. I know it sounds weird but it's helped me now that I have a bunch of girls. I think it helps us really communicate with them between what's right and what's wrong," he said.
Meanwhile, Robertson's molestation scandal came just after a few weeks "19 Kids and Counting" star Josh Duggar confirmed that he molested his younger sisters when he was a teenager. Robertson's book will be out on June 23.
