'The Simpsons' Season 27 Spoilers: Homer and Marge Will Be Legally Separated

The Simpsons from Springfield will have to embrace a big change in the upcoming season as the iconic cartoon's producer has confirmed that Homer and Marge will be legally separated in the upcoming season, CNN reported. After 26 seasons, the producers of the animation legend have agreed to give the story a little twist to keep the fans intrigued. Al Jean, the Simpson's executive producer, also confirmed that aside from the separation between the super couple, another woman will come in the picture that will make Homer's heart beat again for the second time.

Jean said that the reason why the long time couple has decided to separate is because of Homer's narcolepsy, and it caused a huge strain on the marriage. The new girl will be a pharmacist that will capture Homer's eyes and heart and will be voiced by Lena Dunham.

The executive producer is also thankful and elated as well on the Simpson's 625th episode and said that it is amazing and it will continue to rack up numbers as he also confirmed that the animation series gets another 2 years with Fox.

A Simpsons Movie, on the other hand, may have to wait and might not happen anytime soon since the focus of the team is the sitcom. The movie is time-consuming and they don't want their valuable resources to be pulled out for the movie. Jean also said that he would love to end the sitcom before doing another movie.

In related news, according to Entertainment Weekly, the Simpsons' producers revealed during the ATX Festival in Austin, Texas that Slideshow Bob will finally get his wish, after 25 years. The Kelsey Grammer voiced character will return to the show to kill Bart Simpson.

Fans need not to worry since Bart will be back after the format-shattering Halloween stunt, as Jean confirmed.
