Four months ago, Grammy-award winning musician Beck bought a 1920s home in Santa Monica, California. Now he has put the same property on the market, according to a report from zillow.com.
The Tudor style home has modest four bedrooms and four full bathrooms and was listed at $2.795 million. He purchased the home for $2.711 million earlier this year. At the time he bought the property, the listing described the home as "an opportunity to remodel or rebuild."
Beck did so, as he added built-in shelving, a living room fireplace and a bedroom with an exposed beam ceiling to the home. The small increase in the valuation of the property would not hurt Beck's bottomline, which celebritynetworth.com estimates to be around $25 million.
According to a report from realtytoday.com earlier this year, Beck may be expanding his repertoire by venturing into the house flipping market. Since 2002, he has bought and sold a number of properties in a short period of time, among them a mini-mansion bought for $2.25 million that was sold for almost twice that price after three years. This was soon followed up by a purchase in Rustic Canyon worth $4.75 million, which was sold off in 2007 for $4.8 million.
Prior to this, his most recent sale was a ranch home in Point Dume, which he bought in 2010 but sold at a loss of about $350,000. In that same year, he purchased a home in Hancock Park for about $7 million but sold it at a loss of $1.4 million.
Beck and his wife actress Marissa Ribisi still have a home in Los Angeles which they bought back in 2014. Will they flip that too? Let's wait and see. Judging from the last two transactions they have made, keeping it reportedly may be the more prudent thing to do.
