With a resume of films that have been major blockbusters in the past few years, Bryce Dallas Howard certainly commands some attention in the movie world. With appearances in "Twilight," "Terminator," "Spider-Man" and most recently, "Jurassic World," there is one role she reportedly wants: Captain Marvel.
In a recent interview with cinemablend.com, Howard was asked what franchises she hoped to star in, and her quick response was "Marvel movie." When it was suggested that she would be fit to play Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, she replied, "Oh my God, will you write that? Will you write that please? Yes, let's start a campaign now. That would be rad."
Captain Marvel is a big step for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as it is the studio's solo woman superhero film. According to a report from screencrush.com, many of Hollywood's actresses are lining up for the role, which includes Jessica Chastain and Emily Blunt.
Howard, though may reportedly seem to have a lead, as she was previously part of a Marvel movie, having played Gwen Stacy back in 2006 in "Spider-Man 3." Another name being thrown in the ring is "Game of Thrones" star Natalie Dormer, who kissed Steve Rogers in the first installment of "Captain America" movie.
"Captain Marvel" is set to hit theaters in 2018, with screenwriters already hammering out a script, according to a report from ew.com. There is no star or director chosen yet by the studio to complete the movie.
