The Nvidia Shield Pro boasts superb performance when it comes to both entertainment and games. Digital Trends reports that this device brags the "powerful" Tegra X1 mobile superchip that uses only half of the required power input compared to other gaming consoles available in the market.
The Nvidia Shield Pro, according to Digital Trends, comes with a 500 GB internal storage capacity, a 3GB of RAM and is touted the best in video streaming with a 4K video quality. A report from WSJ says that NVidia's Tegra X1 chipset is powered with a 256-core processor which can handle various games that are available in both Android TV and Grid streaming-games service by Nvidia.
The report says that users can actually use Nvidia Shield Pro to stream 4K videos and at the same time play high-quality video games, a feature not available in Apple TV, Google Nexus and Amazon's Fire TV. One of the key components of the Nvidia Shield Pro is the "Grid," which hosts hundreds of games that resemble that of Netflix for video games.
The Grid is free but the report stressed that the company will impose monthly charges for what Nvidia apparently described as "growing market" in the console-level games. The WSJ noted that as of the moment there are 48 titles in the Grid with popular games like "Borderlands," "Alan Wake," "Dirt 3" and "Street Fighter vs. Tekken."
Users can access the streaming service in the Nvidia Shield Pro once they are connected to the Internet via a DSL connection, Wireless Fidelity or Ethernet. If there's one reason why most users select the Nvidia Shield Pro, it's because the device never "lags," which allows them to enjoy a smooth entertainment and gaming experience.
Priced at $300, the Nvidia Shield Pro, an early adopter of Android TV, can be installed separately from any type of television and provides an access to Google Play Store. The company is reportedly offering buyers a $30 Google Play credit, a three-month subscription to Google Play Music and a voucher for "Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel," Digital Trends reported.
