'Battlefield 5' Release Date, News: EA to Unveil Game at E3?

Electronic Arts' (EA) largest game franchise, "Battlefield 5," is rumored to be announced this week during the E3 event, a report from Tweaktown said. A reliable source from the gaming industry who is privy on the matter has hinted that EA will publicly reveal more details of the sought-after military-themed video game.

This rumor came after Tweaktown reported earlier this month that during the E3 event EA will be showing off three unannounced games and emphasized that one of these three games was a new IP. It can be recalled that as early as February this year, there have been various online reports that hinted the possible release of "Battlefield 5" towards the end Q4 of 2016.

As to why there has been a delay of the "Battlefield 5" release, EA, according to a related report from Tweaktown, explains they are avoiding a brand fatigue scenario and they don't want to overwhelm the gamers by releasing two video games in a year. EA said that by pushing back the release date of "Battlefield 5" to 2016, it will give them sufficient time to develop and add more features in the game and apparently rectify the errors that are reported in "Battlefield 4."

BF4 Central has reported earlier that EA has confirmed that the next "Battlefield" game next to "Hardline" will be unveiled most likely in October 2016. The same report has confirmed also that "Battlefield 5," the first next-gen-only "Battlefield" game, will retain the military-themed concept of the game, as revealed by EA.

Though all these remain to be speculations until EA makes it official during the E3 event, gamers, meanwhile, are hoping that "Battlefield 5" will be a full concentration on the PC build with a VR support. BF4 Central reports that EA's "Battlefield 5" will also likely to release the game for PS3 and Xbox 360 console platforms.
