Kim had only 856 Friends and 73 wall comments on her account. Today, she currently has over 70 million followers in Instagram and Tweeter combined. She is one of the most influential people in the virtual world. She also created the highest ranking mobile app, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.
In an interview with AdWeek, Kim tells her how social media helps can make anyone feel like a star. "Social media works when you're open, when you're honest and people want to feel like they're getting a little glimpse into your life. It's not that I brand myself like I'm a celebrity. It's just I'm living my life and sharing a part of my life with the world."
