The most-loved nerd crew of "The Big Bang Theory" will be back for Season 9 on September 21. CBS announced that the sitcom is set to return to its Thursday timeslot starting November 5.
According to Breathe Cast, the fans were reportedly heartbroken after the finale episode of the Season 8. It ended with Leonard and Penny's relationship on the rocks as well as with the breakup of Sheldon and Amy. Leonard and Penny were on their way to Vegas to get married when Leonard admitted that he kissed another girl while he was away on a trip. Amy broke up with Sheldon after she realized that he does not want to take their relationship seriously.
As of writing, there is still no clear detail of what will happen to the couples. However, Steve Molaro, "The Big Bang Theory" showrunner, revealed in a recent interview with Hollywood Reporter that something will definitely happen between the couples, most especially between Sheldon and Amy. He said that Sheldon is "very fond" of Amy, which could mean that he will not let go of her that easily.
According to Master Herald, Sheldon's character must prepare for a dramatic new season as he tries to pull himself together after the breakup. He could also come up with creative solutions to his problem despite the fact that Amy told him that her mind was made up.
As to the other couples, Venture Capital reported that the wedding of Leonard and Penny may not be happening in Season 9 as the producers want to lengthen the story for these characters. Raj and Emily might also breakup after Emily suggests they make love in a cemetery. Some fans believe that the couple might eventually break up and Raj will find someone new. Meanwhile, Howard and Bernadette will be entering a new phase in their marriage.
