"Breaking Bad" prequel "Better Call Saul" may soon feature the former's lead actor, Bryan Cranston, in a cameo role. The show's creator Vince Gilligan confirmed this in an interview with Daily News, saying that the "anti-hero Walter White will make an appearance on the AMC show's spinoff."
According to Gilligan, it would be a shame if the popular character from the equally popular TV series won't make an appearance in its prequel. However, according to Design & Trend, Gilligan refused to reveal whether Cranston's cameo will happen in "Better Call Saul" Season 2. He instead said, "All of the wonderful characters who may eventually appear on 'Better Call Saul' will appear when it is most organic and fitting to the storytelling of 'Better Call Saul,' and also when we can work out scheduling issues with actors."
In Extra's report, Cranston was supposedly asked about his appearance in the TV series during the Tony 2015 Awards in New York. The actor, however, replied coyly about his return and simply said, "I love 'Better Call Saul.' Yes, it is possible," referring to his guest appearance in the spinoff.
Back in March, Aaron Paul, who also played a popular character in "Breaking Bad" named Jesse Pinkman, said he was also interested in appearing in "Better Call Saul." The actor said then in his interview with Variety, "We always have fun having that discussion, Vince, myself, Peter, the writers, we just have no idea how that would happen. But hopefully one day."
Meanwhile, Cranston's involvement in the show may not only be related to his cameo appearance but to a directorial role as well. According to Gilligan, he would love to see the actor direct an episode of "Better Call Saul" as well, but it will also reportedly depend on timing and scheduling.
"Better Call Saul" Season 2 is set to debut in early 2016. The show stars Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy McGill, the criminal lawyer who helped keep Walter White and Jesse Pinkman out of trouble and conceal their drug deals in "Breaking Bad."
