Sony E3 2015: ‘Final Fantasy 7’ Remake, PS4 Release Date & Trailer Officially Revealed [WATCH VIDEO]

The "Final Fantasy 7" remake is not just a fantasy; Sony made sure of that in the ongoing Electronic Expo Event (E3) in Los Angeles, where it officially unveiled the trailer for the anticipated game.

According to Engadget, "Final Fantasy 7" will first come out in PS4, but no specific release date has been revealed. The footage showcased at Sony's press conference in E3 starts off with what seemed like a brief narration of history and then an intriguing glimpse of what's to come, with the narration hinting a "reunion," some important characters "coming back" and emphasizing that a "promise has been made" at last. According to the report, a guy with a gun for an arm and "some blonde guy toting an oversized buster" are teased in the trailer, before the video fades out to the word "REMAKE."

Before the "Final Fantasy 7" remake was officially unveiled in E3, a lot of reports have actually speculated about such incident, with Siliconera stating earlier that the remake will use a modern art style for Cloud, similar to his look in "Dissidia Final Fantasy." The making of the title is allegedly intended for the 20th anniversary celebration of "Final Fantasy VII."

According to iDigital Times, the director of the title, Yoshinori Kitase, actually weighed in on the possibility of a "Final Fantasy 7" remake last year. He said that the major issues in coming up with such a remake is staff availability, budget and his own motivation and commitment for such a big production. He was quoted as saying by Eurogamer, "Even if I casually say I would like to do that, because it would be a huge project I would have to motivate myself to the level that I really am prepared to take on this huge responsibility. I don't know if those three things will happen simultaneously. It has to tick lots of very big boxes. I won't rule out the possibility, but it would take a lot to make it happen.

Now that the game's been officially revealed though, more announcements from Sony are expected, such as the specific release date of the game, other platforms, game characters and more.
