'Spider-man' 3 Movie Cast Update: The New Peter Parker Will Be Revealed Next Week

According to reports, Sony and Marvel are set to announce who will play Peter Parker for the "Spider-man" reboot any time next week. International Business Times noted that Tom Holland and Charlie Rowe are the top choices for the said role. It was rumored that Holland is Sony's top pick while Marvel prefers Charlie Plummer. However, according to IGN, since Sony is the one paying for the reboot, it is expected that it will be making the final call.

Earlier this year, it was reported that "Ender's Game" star Asa Butterfield has signed to be part of the cast for the upcoming "Spider-man" movie. It was also reported that he was being considered to take the famous role. However, in the Meet the Movie Press Podcast Event this week, it was confirmed that Butterfield won't be playing the iconic role.

Christian Daily reports that now that Sony has given Spider-man to Marvel Studios, the superhero will be featured in its upcoming film, "Captain America: Civil War." The third "Captain America" movie is scheduled to be released in May 2016. In the comic book series, Peter Parker played a significant role in the Civil War. It is said that it is then that he accepted his identity as Spider-man after keeping it a secret for many years.

The story of the sequel will continue from where the movie "Avengers: Age of Ultron" left off. Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, is seeking the help of the new members of Avengers to carry out an important mission to protect humankind. Aside from the movie's villains, international authorities will also put pressure on the new members to take sides in the ongoing war.

The "Spider-man" 3 movie was rumored to be titled "Spider-Man: The New Avenger." However, neither Sony nor Marvel has confirmed the full title of the upcoming movie, which is set to be released in 2017.
