International Business Times noted that Tom Holland and Charlie Rowe are the top choices for the said role. It was rumored that Holland is Sony's top pick while Marvel prefers Charlie Plummer. However, according to IGN, since Sony is the one paying for the reboot, it is expected that it will be making the final call.
Earlier this year, it was reported that "Ender's Game" star Asa Butterfield has signed to be part of the cast for the upcoming "Spider-man" movie. It was also reported that he was being considered to take the famous role.
