After just 10 days of being listed in the market, Harold Ramis' former home has now found a new owner. It was just last week when Ramis' 8,357-square-foot North Shore mansion was reported to be up for sale for $2.59 million. According to Chicago Curbed, the real estate is now under contract.
The mansion was purchased by Ramis and his wife back in 1996, and the couple paid for it for $1.9 million. The family transferred to the area to be closer to the actor's aging parents at that time. The house, which was originally built on 1923, sits on an acre lot and includes a manicured backyard, which features a swimming pool and a large deck area. The mansion has six bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms. It was extensively updated with four fireplaces and two sunrooms. The interior has also been renovated with virtually modern features.
Ramis' widow Nancy decided to put their suburban home for sale following the actor's death from an autoimmune condition last year. According to Jewish Business News, the couple also owned a 11,255-square-foot mansion located in Lake Forest, but Nancy decided to donate it to a local hospital during its fundraising campaign.
