Game studio Bethesda has officially announced at E3 conference that a wearable wrist-based computer will be released along with "Fallout 4" on November 2015.
According to a report from Yahoo, a special Pip-Boy edition will be featured in the game series. The report said that gamers can actually attach any smartphone to Pip-Boy and run a companion mobile application which can be downloaded to the smartphone and be used to manage the in-game inventory, perks and holotapes. The wearable wrist-based device was created as a response to the growing demand of gamers, as they used to create their own replica of the Pip-Boy.
Priced at £99.99, the Pip-Boy wristwatch will be part of the "Fallout 4" collector's edition, as announced during the E3 event. Twinfinite reports that Bethesda's Pip-Boy replicates the actual model as seen in the game. Pip-Boy will have a RobCo industries stand, a custom-printed capsule, rotating knobs, lights and an adjustable foam. Bethesda claims that Pip-Boy will be a perfect accessory for fans especially those who want to have customizable foam inserts.
Aside from the wrist wearable, a companion pocket guide, the Physical Pip-Boy Pocket Guide that features various illustrations and tips, will be included to guide users on proper maintenance of the Pip-Boy device. IGN, meanwhile, reports that Pip-Boy edition is available for pre-order with a price tag of $119.99 in Amazon. The report said that Pip-Boy simply acts like a casing that usually houses smartphones.
The Pip-Boy, a "Fallout 4's" collector's edition, has received a good review from its famous game director Todd Howard. He said the wearable wrist-device "is the "best f*cking one I've ever seen," as quoted in the IGN report.
