Foo Fighters Cancels Gigs To Give Way Dave Grohl To Recover From Injury

Days after Dave Grohl were seen on a wheelchair in London, Foo Fighters have officially cancelled their upcoming concerts and appearances to give Grohl time to recover, Dailymail reported. Foo Fighters was forced to cancel their gig at the Glastonbury Festival and the rest of their Eurpean tour after Grohl fell off the stage in Gothenberg, Sweden and broke his right leg.

According to the band's official website, the 46-year-old rock icon was forced to take it easy as advised by his doctors after his reconstructive surgery to fix his broken leg. The website also confirmed that Grohl had six metal pins inserted to his leg in order to put the broken bone together. He also dislocated his ankle during the fall.

In a very long message to his fans, via the Foo Fighter's official website, with a photo of his x-ray showing the broken leg bone, the rock and roll inductee said that he needs to lay low for a while and recover. He also said that he should keep his legs elevated most of the time to ease off the swelling and prevent any infections or complications that might stem out from the injury. Grohl's statement also confirmed the cancellation of their European tours and other appearances. He also thanked the fans who had stuck with them since the beginning and promised to come up with something big on his return.

Realtytoday reported that even though Grohl broke his leg, he went on to finish the set. He played the guitar and sang and screamed for 2 hours while lingering in pain because of the injury. The report also said that before he was ushered off the stage to be treated, he promised the crowd that he will come back and queued off Foo Fighter's drummer Taylor Hawkins to cover him while he is away.

True to his words, while in a cast and crutches, the former Nirvana drummer came back and told the crowd that although he can't run and jump, he can still play the guitar and sing.
