On Tuesday, reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors will face probably the biggest game of their playing career as they will try to end the season with a title, to end the Warriors' 40 year NBA title drought, Yahoo Sports reported. Curry led Warriors with a 104-91 home win against the depleted Cleveland Cavaliers, leading the series 3-2 and a win away from bagging the title.
Warriors forward Andre Igoudala said that this is going to be the biggest game of their careers, and accepted that they have to work hard for it for them to earn it.
Golden State headcoach Steve Kerr on the other hand said that the closeout game is the hardest game in every series, particularly the finals. He added that emotions and anxiety are high. He also mirrored Igoudala's point that this is a hard feat but they have to earn it, most especially that they will try to close the season in Cleveland's turf.
Kerr is no stranger playing big games, as he did for the Chicago Bulls by hitting a game winning three point shot off a pass from Michael Jordan against the Utah Jazz. He also had similar heroics while playing for the San Antonio Spurs. If the Bay Area team will win, this will be Kerr's 6th title. Three from the Chicago Bulls, two from the San Antonio Spurs, and one as a head coach for the Golden State Warriors.
James on the other hand said that they don't want the Warriors to celebrate at all, regardless if it's in Cleveland or Oakland. He also said that they have come this far and they are very good at home.
Meanwhile, as an update to the series, Bleacher Report said that the Golden State Warriors have finally ended their 40 year drought via a 105-97 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Andre Igoudala was named as the Finals MVP with 25 points.
