'Final Fantasy VIII' Remake Confirmed: It's Finally Happening! Square Enix Announced Remake Is in Progress for PlayStation 4

After eighteen years and three PlayStations later, a remake of Final Fantasy VII will be finally born. The 'Final Fantasy VII' remake has been officially announced by Square Enix, and it's said that an HD remake is in progress.

Kotaku.com cited the official press release sent out by Square Enix, announcing that they started the production of the remake: "LOS ANGELES (June 15, 2015) - At Sony Computer Entertainment of America LLC's (SCEA) E3 press conference today, SQUARE ENIX® announced that it has begun production on the full remake of FINAL FANTASY® VII for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system.
Leading the development will be key members from the original project, including producer Yoshinori Kitase, director Tetsuya Nomura and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima."

According to ign.com, Sony announced the game at their E3 press conference, specifying that the 'Final Fantasy VII' remake is "coming first" to PlayStation 4.

Kotaku.com reported that Square Enix's stock prices had a huge increase after this announcement. It's pretty clear that this game would definitely be a hit, and Sony will be releasing a "special cinematic trailer."

In 2005, Sony launched a Final Fantasy VII-themed tech demo for its then-brand-new PlayStation 3 console. It's possible that Square Enix will, after years of nagging by fans, release an enhanced remake of Final Fantasy VII. It would come to PS4, but it will be the same as the original, based on Sony's last year's announcement.

Wait and see for the new upgrades that will be added to the game, not just on its high-definition state, and hope that Square Enix would come up with a new and exciting idea, like adding a little bit of an experiment on the HD version, adding more thrilling episodes, etc., that will make the remake of Final Fantasy VII a huge success and make their fans be worthy of what they have long been waiting for. Surely, more updates are coming up and more electrifying scenes are waiting to be seen.
