Angela Bassett Joins "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Seige"

Angela Bassett is the latest actress to lend her voice and talent to a video game. According to a report from wina.com, Bassett will be joining the cast of the video game "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six" as the leader of the series' counterterrorism group.

This move has a lot of firsts. For her part, this role would be Bassett's first foray into the video gaming world, joining the likes of John Malkovich, Nathan Fillion, Kevin Spacey and other veteran actors to lend their talents to gaming. For the game, this will be the first time the game's character will be played by a woman.

According to Ubisoft, the developer of the game, they have been seeking an actress to take on the role of a leader to the elite group as they intend to have many action-packed sequences. The role of Six, they say, only fits Bassett.

For Bassett, the whole experience provides a different dimension to her as an actress. According to a report from winnipegfreepress.com, she donned a motion capture suit and did stunts in a high-tech sphere that had hundreds of cameras focused on her facial reactions and expressions.

She said, "It was a layering technique, which is very different from film, but it was very, very interesting."

A report from engadget.com shows a live demo of a five-player game for the Terrohunt mode, which will be available by September 24, along with PvP mode. "Rainbow Six Siege" beta version is set to be released on October 13 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The announcement about Bassett's role was made during E3 2015, where it was revealed that she will play the squad director who will provide the necessary intel for the team to manage threats and quell challenges, according to a report from gameinformer.com.
