The mass shooting at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina last Wednesday night that left America shocked after leaving nine dead. And right after the crime went viral all over the media, celebrities and other known personalities are leaving their reactions.
Killing three men, including Reverend Clementa Pinckney, a South Carolina state senator and a pastor at the church, and six women, the shooting has been labelled a hate crime by law enforcement, as reported by Huffington Post.
The next day, NBC News reported that the 21-year-old suspect, Dylann Roof, was arrested about 245 miles north in Shelby, North Carolina after a manhunt that reached two states.
"I am so pleased that we were able to resolve this case quickly," Charleston Police Chief Gregory Mullen said at a news conference," so that nobody else is harmed by this individual who obviously committed a tragic, heinous crime in the city of Charleston."
"In America, we don't let bad people like this get away with these dastardly deeds," Charleston Mayor Joe Riley Jr. told reporters.
In spite of immediately capturing the alleged shooter, the news still continues to draw reactions.
"Plane landed, turned on my phone, and my heart dropped to the floor," said Taylor Swift. "Charleston... This is an unbearable loss of lives and innocence.
Meanwhile, Solange Knowles had this to say: "My heart is truly with you to the folks who lost loved ones Charleston. My heart is truly with you, world."
John Legend expressed his sympathy as he tweeted, "Charleston. My heart hurts." Kat Dennings later said, "I don't even know what words to use about Charleston. I really don't. Love and thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the victims."
Chris Pratt, Kerry Washington, and Hillary Clinton also sent out their prayers for the victims.
