'Super Smash Bros 4' on Wii U & 3DS: Title Gets New DLC Characters

Nintendo's "Super Smash Bros 4" will have two additional free downloadable characters for the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS gaming platforms. Other downloadable contents that have joined the "Super Smash Bros 4" were Pokemon's "Mewto" and Lucas' "Mother 3" characters, Masterherald reports on Wednesday.

The two DLC characters that have been added are Ryu from "Street Fighter" and Roy from the Fire Emblem. Nintendo said that avid fans of the "Super Smash Bros 4" can now download both Ryu and Roy characters via DLC. These perks from Nintendo and the addition of the characters reportedly surprised gamers because such characters are the ones fans have been wanting to see since "Super Smash Bros 4" was released in November 2014. According to Masterherald, the three characters will join Mewtwo, Sakurai, Duck Hunt, Mega Man and others, which were already integrated in the video game.

In a Businesswire report, Nintendo's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for America, Scott Moffitt, said, "Today's update proves that the evergreen 'Super Smash Bros.' games continue to evolve and grow with unexpected new content. We're offering multiple price options and bundles for all this outstanding new content, so players can mix and match whatever characters, stages and costumes they want."

A related report from The Verge revealed that Roy and Lucas characters will be available on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS for $3.99 and $4.99, respectively. The report noted that Ryu will have a Suzake Castle stage from "Street Fighter," which is priced at $5.99 for each gaming console platform or $6.99 for both consoles.

The Verge said that Nintendo plans to have a new Mii Fighter costume for its other video games like "Tekken," "Virtual Fighter" and "Animal Crossing." Also, the report added that "Super Smash Bros." Dreamland Stage will make a comeback for the Wii U and Nintendo's 3DS but with a few minor game updates.
