Hollywood A-lister’s Charlize Theron and Sean Penn is set to walk down the aisle later this year but according to rumors, the engagement has been called off, Dailymail reported. The couple has finally called it quits after a year and a half. Theron was rumored to call off the engagement after the couple spent time together in Europe in May.
The 39-year-old bombshell went to Europe in mid-May at the Cannes Film Festival to promote her movie Mad Max: Fury Road. Penn is with her during the premier and was pictured together and looking happy. The couple was also spotted two days after the premier, in Vienna at the Life Ball. After the European tour, the Oscar best actress winner was seen alone when she presented an award to her A Million Ways to Die actor Seth MacFarlane at the Critic’s Choice Award on May 31st. She was also seen arriving alone at LAX on June 7.Currently, Theron is in London filming her newest movie, The Huntsman.
Online celebrity website US Magazine also reported that the couple is no longer living on the same roof after their European tour. Theron is currently at her Hollywood home with her three-year-old son Jackson while Penn is at his Malibu home. The Malibu home was recently listed as for sale but was later taken off the list.
The sudden split was a shocker for the entire business since Penn and Theron looked head over heels in love with each other. Penn also said in an interview that he is ready to be a husband after failing two marriages. Penn was once married to pop legend Madonna from 1985 to 1989 followed by a marriage with actress Robin Wright from 1996 to 2010, in which he had two kids, Dylan and Hopper. Theron on the other hand also had two relationships before Penn - Craig Bierko and Stuart Townsend.
