Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Rumors: Release Date Set for Next Year, Features Leaked

A new rumor has surfaced online saying that Samsung is set to release a new smartphone: the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Master Herald reports. The rumored Samsung Galaxy S7 will reportedly be released on the first quarter of 2016.

Rumor has it that Samsung is currently working to improve the said device's display as the company is planning to have a massive rollout of Samsung Galaxy S7. According to Master Herald, Samsung has reportedly ordered 8 million flexible panels, which is an indication that the company will eventually sell a large number of smartphone units.

According to the same report, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will sport an Edge screen design, the same feature that can be found in the company's recently released smartphone. The rumored Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone will have 6 GB of Random Access Memory (RAM). The device will also sport the LDDR4 technology that is patented exclusively to Samsung. The LDDR4 technology, according to the Master Herald report, will give additional power and performance to Samsung Galaxy S7's microchip.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 was also reported to have an octa-core central processing unit with 3 GHz speed. The company claims that Samsung Galaxy S7 will have a "special fast charging" feature that will resolve the problems encountered by smartphone users, with the battery getting drained fast because of the smartphone's memory and processor.

Phone Arena reported that Samsung is planning to integrate an iris-based authentication system in the rumored Samsung Galaxy S7. This is likely possible since Samsung and its rival LG were rumored previously to integrate a new biometric login system in their new smartphones that are slated to be unveiled next year. However, all of these remain to be rumors without Samsung's official statement.
