Square Enix has announced during the E3 event in Los Angeles that its new game "Hitman" will have additional free downloadable contents (DLC) and story missions. The company claims that it will continue to support the game after "Hitman" is released in winter, Gamewatcher reports.
Square Enix studio head Hannes Seifert reportedly said that the company is planning to release all the downloadable contents and gaming updates for free. "No DLC or microtransactions and it is fully complete at launch but it is not finished. What we do is we start the journey on December 8 and what we put out there is going to be a big game. But over the course of 2016 we'll add more locations, more missions and we'll have things like targets that only appear for, say, 2 days. That's something you can only do in the live world," Seifert says.
Videogamer reports that Square Enix's "Hitman" will be released outside the traditional models. According to Square Enix, the "Hitman" video game is priced at $60, but the company stressed that the additional story lines will be rolled out in the coming months after "Hitman" hits retail stores in December. The company also said that "Hitman" will be available in a disc. Developer Lo clarified earlier that the game will be shipped with limited contents on day one and explained that additional free DLC will be released by 2016.
Seifert also further explained that by the time "Hitman" is shipped on December 8, it is entirely finished and polished. "Everything we ship on December 8 will be completely finished, it will be a very polished experience. It's also going to be a very big game. There are other products that sell a game for $60 and then try to sell you a Season Pass for another $40 on top, so you spend $100 or $120 for all the stuff that happens later on. We said no, we don't want to do that."
According to Seifert, gamers will be able to enjoy countless hours of gameplay as they will likely travel the world in various locations. He hinted that Paris, Marrakesh, and Italy are some of the new contents that will be coming every week, which guarantees that players will enjoy a unique gaming experience in "Hitman."
