"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Captain America: Civil War" are two of the biggest superhero movies that are expected to smash box office records in 2016. Comic fans are now wondering if the plot of the two movies will somehow be similar since both films feature a combination of comic book heroes.
According to Forbes, the films are going to be obviously different in terms of its characters, distinct tone and the plot. According to Collider, in "Batman v. Superman," Gotham City's famous vigilante will travel to Metropolis to take on its famous superhero, Superman. As they confront one another, a new threat will emerge, which will put mankind in greater danger.
Meanwhile, in "Captain America: Civil War," Captain America will work with the new set of Avengers to continue to protect the world, but the team will soon be divided after politicians pass an act to regulate superhuman activities.
While there are noted differences between the two films, they reportedly also have a lot of similarities. Aside from being sequels to a standalone franchise, both films will also feature other superheroes in supporting roles. They will also reportedly feature the heroes giving each other verbal and physical blows over a certain conflict, and there will probably be a grand misunderstanding before such fights.
"Batman v. Superman" is the second installment in the DC Comics' shared universe films. It is directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio and Davis Goyer. The creation of the film was announced at the 2013 Comic-Con in San Diego after the release of the movie "Man of Steel." The production began in October 2013 and ended in December 2014.
The star-studded cast is headed by Ben Affleck, who will play Batman, and Henry Cavalli, who will reprise the role of Superman. Other cast members include, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot.
On the other hand, "Captain America: Civil War" is the third "Captain America" movie. The two previous films are "Captain America: The First Avenger," released in 2011 and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," released in 2014.
"Batman vs. Superman" is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on March 25, 2016. "Captain America: Civil War" will be released on May 6, 2016.
