NBA Mock Draft 2015 Sees Seven Kentucky Players Go in the First Round

The mock draft is one of the most awaited events in NBA. According to a report from Kentucky.com, one newly expanded mock draft showed six of the seven draft eligible players from the University of Kentucky going in the first round.

The top draft pick, according to the report, is Karl-Anthony Towns. One analyst, ESPN's Chad Ford, had written that while Towns is "not a done deal" with Minnesota Timberwolves, the holders of the top draft pick, this would be the most probable scenario with just a week to go before the event.

The next projected UK player to be drafted in the first round is Devin Booker as the ninth pick of the Charlotte Hornets. At the 11th pick, the Pacers is predicted to choose Willie Cauley-Stein, another UK alum. Other projected draft picks in the first round is Trey Lyles as the 17th pick for Milwaukee, Dakari Johnson as the 40th pick for Miami and Andrew Harrison for the 53rd pick for Cleveland.

According to usatoday.com, there were seven draft eligible applicants for the 2015 NBA draft from the team that John Calipari led to the Final Four. Only Aaron Harrison was not included in the conducted mock draft.

When asked about his former wards, Coach Cal said, "If Alex (Poythress) didn't get hurt, it would have been eight." The Wildcats went 38-1 in the NCAA, with the team winning the SEC championship and was beaten only by Wisconsin in the NCAA semifinal.

Coach Cal added, in an interview reported in the courier-journal.com, "I'm not worried (about Aaron Harrison not being drafted). I think he'll be drafted. Let me say this, I'll go even farther. I think he'll be in the league for awhile. I believe that because of being able to play multiple position. He's not locked in to any position, 6-6 at his size, everyone knows this kid makes game-winning shots, there's not a whole lot in the league like that let alone a guy in the draft like that. So I think he's going to be fine."
