Apple's flagship phones, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, were released in September last year. With barely a year of availability, rumors regarding the next generation of iPhones are already making the rounds online. This year, it's reportedly highly unlikely that Apple will stop its current trend of releasing two differently sized phones, with one bigger than the other.
Current highlights for the new iPhone 6S or iPhone 7 include a Force Touch, DSLR-quality camera, the Apple SIM, and twice the RAM of the current iPhone 6.
Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst from KGI Securities, predicted that the next generation of Apple phones would have a 12 megapixel camera over a rose-colored shell, a new addition to the current roster.
The Force Touch, a knock-on feature, will reportedly be the most notable feature of the new and upcoming flagship phone(s).
Color design changes are also said to be very possible, with the new flagship phones to match the latest Apple Watches to be released. The new colors will also be altered in the upcoming iPhones - the gold will look more yellowish gold and the gray will be darker in hue.
In terms of physical design changes, Forbes says there seems to be no notable changes and it is very unlikely that the tech giant will stray from its current one.
Moreover, the iPhone 6S will most probably be encased in a 7000 series aluminium. Additionally, its height and width could also undergo changes as it was rumoured that the new iPhones will be 0.15mm taller and 0.2mm thicker.
Design changes might come off as subtle for some but the combination of the software and hardware of this coming iPhone will reportedly pave way for a more efficient model, perhaps the most prominent change that is to come.
