John Legend and Wife Chrissy Teigen are planning to sell their one-bedroom Nolita apartment. According to the New York Curbed, the A-list couple is now planning to have a child, which is why they need a bigger space for their future family.
The award-winning singer bought the place back in 2012 for $2.5 million. The couple then made some renovations with the help of Don Stewart and architect Winka Dubbeldam. The 1,969-square-foot condo at the Brewster Carriage House at 374 Broome Street features an old-school industrial look.
Since Teigen loves to cook, it was reported that the kitchen area saw the biggest changes in the home. It features dark wood cabinetry with a lot of brass and bronze elements and a large center island. The floor plan of the place has also slightly changed when the couple changed a bathroom into a walking closet.
The listing details are not yet complete but it is reported to go live sometime this week.
According to the Real Deal, this is not the first time Legend got involved in the real estate business. Legend was also into buy and sell of several condos Downtown. Back in 2009, Legend sold his East Village condo for $1 million and in 2011 he sold his upgraded condo at 52 East 4th Street, which he bought for $1.9 million.
Although it has been a rough year for the singer, Legend has earned the number one spot on "People With Money's top 10 highest-paid singers for 2015," according to Media Mass. The estimated net worth of the singer is $46 million. According to reports, he owes his fortune to his different investments and property holdings. He also has lucrative investment deals with CoverGirl cosmetics. The singer also owns several restaurants in Washington, a football team and just recently launched his own brand of Vodka.
He married American model Chrissy Teigen on September 14, 2013 in Como Italy, after four years of dating.
