If recent reports are to be believed, Marvel wants Beyonce to line up for "Avengers: Infinity War."
The rumor reportedly started when a senior executive at movie distributor Disney said to UK Daily Star, "We would love to have Beyoncé on board, almost certainly as a newcomer to the screen from Marvel's existing catalogue of comic book characters." Also, the film's producers reportedly believe that the "Run the World" singer could add millions of fans for the movies if she starred alongside Scarlett Johansson, who plays Black Widow, and Elizabeth Olsen, who plays the Scarlet Witch.
In line with this, the report speculated possible roles for the singer, which include Boom-Boom, who can create energy bombs; Blink, who can teleport; and Tigra, who's fast and strong.
HipHollywood mentioned that Beyonce actually has some background in acting. She played Foxxy Cleopatra in 2002's "Austin Powers" in Goldmember, starred in "Dreamgirls" in 2006, played Xania in 2006's "Pink Panther" and portrayed Etta James in the 2008 hit, "Cadillac Records."
Mirror also reported that the "Love on Top" singer got a Golden Globe nomination for her role in "Dreamgirls" and has expressed her interest in playing a female superhero in the past. Also, she was reportedly previously in talks to star in a Wonder Woman reboot, but Gal Gadot apparently got the role.
In line with this, the singer previously said, "I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than being a black Wonder Woman?"
However, as of writing, the movie studios and Beyonce herself have not confirmed or denied the rumor.
