On Monday, Sony has confirmed that it will launch a new model of PS4: the 1 TB PS4 which the company described as the "Ultimate Gamer Edition." The 1 TB PS4 will hit retail stores on July 15 in selected territories only, specifically in Europe, a report from IGN said.
IGN said that Sony has also confirmed that it will officially debut a lighter PS4 model in the last week of June in Japan before it is globally distributed worlwide. The lighter PS4 model comes in two colors, Glacier White and Jet Black.
The new PS4 model will have more storage capacity and has a new slimmed down chassis. Sony designed the new version with a 1TB hard drive, which is twice bigger compared to the previous PS4 models. Sony says that the chassis of the 500 GB model has been in fact slimmed down -- 10 percent lighter and 8 percent more power-efficient, according to a report from Know Your Mobile.
The 1 TB PS4 Model, according to the same website, will no longer have a traditional power supply. Instead, the power outlet comes with a short single cord that is integrated in the system. It added than an HDMI cable from the console going to the television is needed for the device to be used.
Players will get to also use the Dualshock 4 controller, which has a wireless connection for Bluetooth and offers a smooth and unique gaming experience. The 1 TB PS4 Model has two new buttons: the Share and Option buttons. Aside from these, a light bar across the bottom controller is added in the 1 TB PS4 model controller, which is perfect when a player is immersed in a dark room.
Know Your Mobile says that the 1 TB PS4 Model is cheaper compared to its rival consoles in the market as it will be sold for £349.99. In general, the 1 TB PS4 Model has a slick user interface, quality graphics and an excellent controller.
