'Deadpool' Movie Release Date & News: Comic Creator Compares It to Quentin Tarantino’s Films

One of the most anticipated superhero movies of 2016 is "Deadpool" and it is reported to feature dark themes with a twisted sense of humor. According to International Business Times, Rob Leifeld, who created Deadpool's character in the comic book, recently compared the theme of the movie to that of the famous director Quentin Tarantino's films.

In his recent appearance at Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con, Liefeld said that Deadpool is an awesome and hardcore character. The character is also reportedly more crime- and action-oriented. Based on the comic books, Deadpool is described as a "disfigured and mentally unstable mercenary" with a talkative nature. He will carry a device which will give him teleportation and disguise abilities.

According to recent speculations, the movie will show the character's origin. As what fans have read in the comics, Wilson will adopt his alter ego Deadpool after being subjected to an experiment, which will give him superhealing powers. He will then hunt down the person responsible for destroying his life.

Ryan Reynolds will come back and reprise the role, which he previously played in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." Reynolds announced being in the film back in December 2014. Being a "super fan" of the character, he is also one of the producers of the film along with Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg. Reynold also worked with screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to produce the script for the movie.

According to Cinema Blend, Tim Miller directed the "Deadpool" movie. He landed the project back in April 2011. He is best known for his work as a visual effects artist, so this will be his directing debut. "Deadpool" movie is set to be released in U.S. theaters on February 12, 2016.
