Jason Bourne will be back and old faces will resume their roles, IGN reported. According to the report, Matt Damon will resume his role as the multi-skilled assassin Jason Bourne as well Julia Stiles who will play Nicky Parsons. Stile's character, aside from Bourne, is the only character to return to the upcoming film. Parsons became an important ally to Bourne during The Bourne Ultimatum film. The film also hinted that Bourne and Parsons are a couple before Bourne suffered amnesia. There were no confirmations yet from Stiles or her representative if she will play the role, but according to sources, the only thing that's missing is her signature on the paper.
On the other hand, Screen Rant has reported that Viggo Mortensen is being considered to play a villain in the upcoming action film. The Lord of the Rings actor is rumored to play an assassin that will track Bourne and of course try to kill him. However, like Julia Stiles, Mortensen or any of his representatives are yet to comment or confirm his involvement in the film.
However, Damon has confirmed via social media website Twitter that he is indeed returning to play Bourne. The newest Bourne offering will again be directed by Paul Greengrass. Aside from Mortensen, Ex Machina star Alicia Vikander is also reported to be under consideration to join the cast but her role on the film is yet to be determined.
The last Bourne movie was headlined by actor Jeremy Renner who had a commercial success that was filmed in several countries including the Philippines and Thailand. The team behind the newest Bourne film has yet to confirm if Renner is being considered to be part of the project.
