After a lot of speculation, it has been confirmed that Hawkgirl will not have her own series, for now. According to Screen Rush, Hawkgirl herself, Ciara Renee, broke the news with her latest message on Twitter: "Srry to disappoint, but the rumors are false. No #Hawkgirl solo show! Thanx for all the love though! Even more excited to start #DCLOT now!"
Meanwhile, some of the cast members of the upcoming CW superhero drama series, "Legends of Tomorrow," shared their preparations for their roles. According to Vine Report, the comic-based show is slated to be aired in January 2016.
Renee also shared hints about her character as Hawkgirl in the show. She revealed that there will be changes happening to the character's alter ego Kendra Saunders, which overwhelm her. Caity Lotz, who will play White Canary, also hinted in a separate interview that she believes that the fans will like her role.
Comic Book also reported the introduction of one of the new characters in the show, the time traveler Rip Hunter. The website also included a DC All Access video which traces the character's history and revealed who Hunter's real father is.
According to the official synopsis given by DC Comics, the story will involve Rip Hunter who will travel back in time to the present day to bring together a team of heroes and villains in an attempt to prevent Vandal Savage from destroying the world. Vandal Savage was confirmed as the show's first major villain earlier this year.
DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" was developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim with executive producer Sarah Schechter. It is a spinoff from other CW's superhero series "Arrow" and "The Flash," which exist in the same fictional universe.
