"The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder reportedly unfollowed her ex-girlfriend and former co-star Nina Dobrev on Twitter. There are also some reports that Somerhalder's wife, Nikki Reed, liked a photo that was posted by Dobrev's basher.
According to KPopStarz, Reed asked her husband to unfollow Dobrev on Twitter after reports swirled that the former lovers are still communicating because they are good friends. The same statement was released by Hollywood Take that read, "Since Dobrev and Somerhalder's friendship is so strong, some fans think Nikki Reed might have told her husband to unfollow his ex."
In a previous interview with E! News, Dobrev indeed said that her split from Somerhalder didn't have anything to do with the fact that they might have lost their feelings for one another.
"We didn't break up because anything bad happened or because there wasn't love or friendship. I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he's great and I care about him. And that didn't change. Yes, we're professional and that's fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now," she said.
Meanwhile, Somerhalder and Reed only dated each other for six months before they officially tied the knot in April. At that time, there were reports that the "Twilight" star stayed on the set of "The Vampire Diaries" in an attempt to make sure that her then boyfriend and Dobrev wouldn't do anything behind her back.
On the other hand, Dobrev has been single ever since her split from Somerhalder. Although she has been linked to multiple guys for the past couple of months, the actress never confirmed any official relationship with anyone. She also exited the CW series "The Vampire Diaries" after Season 6.
As of late, Dorbev, Reed and Somerhalder have not yet commented regarding the issue.
