Want to be a Character in John Green's Next Novel? He Promises You Won't Die

Fans of John Green and his novels listen up! Ever imagined how cool it would be to be part of any of his books like Paper Towns and The Fault in Our Stars? That might just be possible - for a price.

The author is teaming up with PEN/Faulkner, a nonprofit organization that supports readers and writers of all ages by sponsoring fiction awards, school reading programs, and events that bring celebrated authors to Washington D.C. public schools, in a fun and exciting fundraising, MTV reports.

But before you get too excited, the contest is for naming rights only. Meaning, you only get a character named after you; so you don't get a say to how important the character would be and how it would look like - so if you are already daydreaming about being the lead character, sorry, but who knows!

Good news though, John Green himself promises that your character will not die a horrific and tragic cancer death - or any other kind of death for that matter! He tweeted:

@johngreen: "I promise your character will not die in the novel. (but I can't promise when the book will be finished)"

Charitybuzz will be auctioning off the spot and the bidding will be between June 23 to June 30, Instyle.com reports.

"We can't promise who you'll be or when the book will come out, but we're sure you'll love finding out when you get your autographed copy in the mail," Charitybuzz says on their website.

If you are a huge fan, this is a great chance for you to have yourself immortalized in one of the best-selling author's young adult novels and help a good cause at the same time. The current bid is at $1000 so you need to have more than that in the bank to stand a chance.

Head over to Charitybuzz's website and bid now.
