A new smaller Nintendo 3DS might have its way to the Northern America market as IGN reported. According to Nintendo North America President Reggie Fils-Aime, the company has no plans in revealing the news during the recently concluded E3 conference of the portable game console release in the North America area, the game developer giant has certainly taken note of all the feedbacks showing the desire for the slimmer portable game console. The president also discussed the company's logic behind the initial offering of the XL version of the game console in the area.
He said that they have analyzed the results in Japan and saw that the biggest chunk of the meat was on the XL model and that is without any 2DS existence in Japan. That is why they have come up with the top models that are available to them to offer in the NA region and the logical choices are the new XL model and 2DS. Fils-Aime added that as of this time, they are not making any promises that might project a false hope to their followers. He also advised Nintendo fans in North America to stay tune for any updates since everything is still under careful consideration.
Still on Nintendo's portable game console, Techradar has recently reviewed it and found out that there were no major improvements. However, the secondary analogue stick and the 3D feature has been improved dramatically. The report also said that Nintendo's newest baby is by far better than its predecessor and is still relatively affordable compared to other portable game consoles available in the market. The downsides on the other hand are pretty much the same as to its older brothers. Number one is its battery life, the same problem as with the old one.
The new 3DS is only available in Europe for now which is priced at around $240. Nintendo is still considering if they will offer it in the Northern American region and Australia.
