‘Preach’ Series Cancelled on Lifetime; Network Claims Show’s Cancellation Was Due to Low Ratings

The controversial Lifetime series, "Preach" has been officially cancelled following its season premiere on June 5. While most people believe that the series was cancelled because of an ongoing petition against the docu-series, an insider from the network claims that the cancellation has something to do with the show's poor ratings.

"Preach" is the newest reality series on Lifetime, which features four "Prophetesses" who claim to have the ability to deliver God's messages, heal the sick, and see the future. The series premiered on June 5, but the show has been immediately taken off the air following a series of controversies.

According to Christian Today, "Preach" was cancelled because of an ongoing petition started by Tachina Carter via the Change.org website. Carter claims that that the Lifetime reality series is a "travesty to the Christian Community" and that the four women, who claim to be God's messengers "are making a mockery of the church."

The petition aims to put a stop to the series, which Carter believes is doing "more harm than good to the Christian community." Carter's petition is only less than 125 signatures away from reaching the 15,000 mark.

While the cancellation of "Preach" has been mainly attributed to the petition, an insider from Lifetime revealed to Christian Post that the series was cancelled because the show "wasn't performing in this current time period."

Belinda Scott, one of the show's "priestesses," defended the show, including herself from their critics and wrote: "I watch hateful people who say they love the Lord, type like that FROG typing at that machine."

Scott added that while there are a lot of people who doubt her ability to speak with God and hear His messages, she continued to insist that she has been called to hear His messages and was even able to prophesize these attacks against the show before it happened.
