Fans of Marvel Universe will have something to look forward to because there are rumors that "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" will crossover on a movie in 2018. Although the teams are coming from different franchises, Fox have an aim to bring two disparate teams together again. (via Collider)
In the article of Latino Review, Fox's untitled movie in 2018 will unite "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" if Josh Trank's reboot of "Fantastic Four" and ''Fantastic Four 2" by 2018 is successful while ''X-Men: Apocalypse'' will not dive the entire franchise.
So how will an ''X-Men''/''Fantastic Four'' movie actually work? According to Cinemablend, a crossover could easily begin with Toby Kebbell's Doctor Doom discovering the existence of the universe with the ''X-Men'' and trying to conquer it. In order to stop him, Miles Teller's Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara's The Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan's Human Torch, and Jamie Bell's The Thing, must team up with Professor Xavier's mutants.
Comic Book asked Simons Kinberg, producer for both film franchises, if such a crossover was possible and he answered:
"To be honest, I'm so focused on each of the movies right now - I'm so focused on, now we're post on 'Fantastic Four', and making that the best movie it can be. And then we're in prep on 'X-Men: Apocalypse', so those are kind of full time jobs." he answered.
He added, "I love the characters, I love the characters in Fan Four, and I love the new cast. Obviously I love the characters and cast of X-Men. So, hypothetically, the notion of putting them together is really intriguing, and there's some really fun stuff that the comics have done in the past. So it's not out of the realm of possibility."
The Daily Beast revealed that De Luca learned directly from Simon Kinberg that Fox is working on an ''X-Men and Fantastic Four'' team-up movie. Slash film though cited that the Fox braintrust has gone back and forth on the possibility of a 'Fantastic Four / X-Men' crossover.
The "Fantastic Four" reboot will open August 7, 2015 while "X-Men: Apocalypse" is due in theaters May 27, 2016.
