GoPro Hero 5 Rumors: Release Date Pushed Back, Specs Include 3D Videos With 4k Resolution

GoPro Inc. has reportedly postponed the release of its latest action camera, the GoPro Hero 5, toward the end of 2015. According to a Master Herald report, it is currently undergoing a major revamp to have more features and improved camera capabilities. The company reportedly intends to create a new video camera that will surpass the specifications of the current model, GoPro Hero 4.

According to the report, the delay in the release is due to the fact that the company's still trying to improve the device's video camera specs, which naturally will take time. The report also noted that it could be a company strategy as well since GoPro Hero 4 has only been in the market for barely a year, and releasing GoPro Hero 5 may take the spotlight away from its predecessor, especially if the newer model comes out at the same price.

As reported by Valuewalk, GoPro Hero 5 will sport an A10 chipset, which the company claims has the capability to capture 4K videos at 60 frames per second. The 4K quality reportedly ensures that the videos are clear and crisp, with GoPro Hero 5 at par with other mainstream video cameras available in the market.

A 2800 mAh battery is also speculated to be one of the features of GoPro Hero 5. The battery upgrade is expected to provide a stable and longer battery life to the device as compared to the 1160 mAh battery available in GoPro Hero 4. It was also reported that GoPro Hero 5 will sport a dual-lens setup that is compatible with 3D technology, aside from the usual Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 technology and HDMI ports.

GoPro Hero 5 will be sold for $400 and $500, according to some industry insiders. Although the company has not officially confirmed the price of its upcoming camera, GoPro users reportedly affirm that such rates are likely, considering that GoPro Inc. is working on some modifications of the camera's specs.
