Marvel Cinema Update: "Ant-Man" central to the Marvel Universe

In an interview by Hollywood Report of Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President, he mentioned that "Ant-Man" is slightly different.

He said, "It was an opportunity to tell a more intimate story. We've never had a hero whose origin involved him having a daughter as a motivating factor for his redemption. And when you've had aliens pouring into Manhattan, artificial intelligence robots lifting cities out of the ground to annihilate mankind, supersoldiers, Norse gods and dark elves, there's a lot of action going on. So the notion of shrinking down, to have an arena that is not another city or an entire planet or a fictional place like Asgard but is a bathtub, or is a rug, or is a little girl's play set - that felt like a great opportunity to deliver Marvel's thrills and action in a totally different way."

Also, Feige added that the Phase Two will end in "Ant-Man" and Phase Three will begin in "Captain America: Civil War". He also said that "Ant-Man" will introduce the Pym particles, important part of technology in the Marvel Universe.

Cinemablend released an article about the timeline of "Ant-Man". Feige explained: "We don't exactly say. There's an indication that is probably just after "Avegers: Age of Ultron", just after "Avengers 2". The present day films take place within the chronology of the release of movies, the exact months and the exact weeks after sometimes determined later."

The article added that there will also be a good chunk of the movie that is dedicated to showing an era that neither the Marvel movies nor the Marvel television shows have explored just yet: the late 1980s.

Meanwhile, Marvel Entertainment release a trailer in You tube.

Paul Rudd will take the role of "Ant-Man" and it is directed by Peyton Reed. "Ant-Man" will be in cinemas on July 17, 2015.
