Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson Confirms Character Reprise In Fast And Furious 8

It is confirmed, action superstar and previous Fast and Furious villain Jason Statham will again appear in the upcoming Fast and the Furious offering, IGN reported. Statham's announcement came before Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson said that he will be back in the 8th offering of the blockbuster movie series. The UK action star confirmed his involvement on the next action flick through an interview with Access Hollywood.

Statham said during the interview that they (producers and other stars) have been talking of Part Eight and as a new comer; he was invited again to reprise his villainous character in the coming car-led action flick. Fast and the Furious star Vin Diesel also confirmed the news and there were also rumors that Eva Mendes will be returning to be part of the next movie.

The latest Fast and Furious movie, part 7, grossed a monster $1.5 billion worldwide.

Since the project is still in its early stage, the storyline of the next Fast and Furious offering will be the biggest challenge for the producers due to the untimely death of Paul Walker, one of the main characters of the movie.

Ironically, Walker died tragically due to a car crash. The 40-year-old actor died on November 30, 2013 with his friend Roger Rodas while doing a charity event for the victims of the super typhoon Haiyan that wrecked the southern region of the Philippines.

Walker and Roda crashed while on board a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT. The car while speeding at 45 miles per hour (72 km/h) careened into a lamppost and two trees making the vehicle burst in flames while Walker and Roda is still inside the super car. According to the reports, Roda was killed instantly due to multiple traumatic injuries while Walker succumbed from combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries.

As of this writing, Diesel, Johnson and Statham are the only actors who have confirmed to star in the upcoming movie.
