Rumors are circulating that Queen Elizabeth has purchased an apartment at 50 United Nations Plaza. According to The Real Deal, the 89-year-old British monarch bought a three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom apartment on the 18th floor of the said building.
According to Zillow, with the Buckingham Palace in need of serious renovation, the Queen is apparently looking for some place to stay. It was reported that she has other real estate holdings at London, Scotland and the Sandringham House in Norfolk. In addition, the Queen reportedly chose the place because of its luxurious, secure and private location. The place also has a five-foot-long dining room with a grand foyer, which is suitable for entertaining a large number of guests. It also has a private motor court and a garden entry to the building.
The royal reportedly spent $8 million for the 3,000-square-foot place. In the building description by Street Easy, the place was said to be designed by Norman Foster, whom the Queen knighted back in 1990. The building also has different high-end amenities like a 75-foot swimming pool, exercise room, sauna and steam room, wine cellars, and massage therapy rooms. The residences in the building range from one-bedroom apartments to penthouses with a private terrace and an outdoor infinity pool. Each of the residences also has spectacular views of the city.
