About six years ago, he set out to terrace the hillside on his one-acre property. In order to make his property more appealing, he started adding in ponds, a waterfall, and a Japanese garden. Since then, he has been spending at least 90 minutes of his day sustaining the beauty that he has created.
For Bodine, gardening became a form of exercise as opposed to keeping fit by attending the gym. He said that being a retired manufacturing executive, it was the 59-year-old's dream to have a wondrous garden within his home.
Time came that Bodine opened his doors for visitors to admire his gardening efforts through the Garden Conservancy's Open Days Program. This program would enable the people to get a glance and experience the beauty of private gardens that could help them get inspired to beautify their very own.
