Selena Gomez' "Good For You" video released on Friday, June 26, caused a stir online. In the video, the singer is seen in sultry shots and doesn't shy away in wearing a robe-like dress in a couch and posing nude in a shower. The latest video is one of her current singles and part of the album that will be released by Interscope, Huffington Post reports.
It is notably a different Selena Gomez in the "Good For You" video. The 22-year-old singer is now trying to reach another level and is finally graduating from her sweet image. She took to Instagram and posted a message saying how happy she was after the video "Good For You" was released.
"I wanted the video to reflect the initial stripped-down version of 'Good for You,' " says Gomez."This song represents the confidence that I truly have inside of me, and I think it's the vulnerable side that I've expressed, but it's also the combination of just feeling myself. It's good!"
In an earlier interview with Elvis Duran on Z100's morning show, "The Heart Wants What It Wants" singer revealed how she always wanted to become fully independent. The 22-year-old "Spring Breaker" added that her latest "Good For You" video symbolizes her journey in finding out her real self and in becoming a real woman, according to People.
Selena Gomez' "Good For You" video was directed by Sophie Muller, who is known for directing videos for Beyoncé and Rihanna. Muller directed Gomez' video in minimalistic approach, giving much more emphasis on the singer's voice and actions as she's removing her plain white tees to take a shower. A$AP Rocky, who is featured in the album, was not present in the video.
