NBC's "Heroes Reborn" will premiere on the television screens in September, and fans have recently enjoyed a treat with its latest trailer.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the sci-fi reboot will be launching 13 episodes this fall. It will pick up five years after the events of the original NBC series "Heroes." The show will reportedly start during the time when the heroes from the original series are largely in hiding after going public with their powers in the "Heroes" season finale.
In the official synopsis from NBC, a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas left the city destroyed, and those with extraordinary abilities were blamed for the tragic event. These individuals are either in hiding or are running from those people with wicked motives.
The show will feature returning characters like Noah Bennet Bennet (Jack Coleman), Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), The Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis), and Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka). "Heroes Reborn" will also have new characters and cast members, which include Luke (Zachary Levi) and Joanne (Judith Shekoni), who are characters seeking for revenge after a tragic loss. Other characters also include Tommy (Robbie Kay), Emily (Gatlin Green), Carlos (Ryan Guzman) and Miko (Kiki Sukezane). It was reported that some of these characters will discover their newfound skills while they are in hiding.
According to Science Fiction, many fans reacted when the show decided not to bring back its main villain Sylar and also the main members of the Petrelli family. In addition, the report stated that NBC will unveil more information about the upcoming show during the San Diego Comic-Con in July 11 where the new cast of the show will sit with panel host Grunberg. Fans are also expecting the team to reveal some of the footage in the pilot episode.
"Heroes Reborn" will air on NBC on Thursday, September 24.
